Afternoon Update

TJ's temperature has climbed up to 101.3', but really is the only bad news to report. The doctors think that the DVT (the blood clot) is the source of the fever.

TJ is actually looking better as the afternoon wears on, not more tired as we more or less expected. He still can't talk, but (occasionally) smiles, lifts eyebrows, and holds eye contact.

In fact, things are good enough right now that unless there is a significant change, either for better or for worse, this will probably be the last update for the day, a good feeling.

Thank you all for your prayers, this has been a really good day for us. He's not out of the woods yet but he is really close. (We'll just call the ICU the woods...)

Addendum: It is worth adding that he is breathing fine on his own, with the help of a little oxygen, which is a great sign. He'll be on a CPAP again tonight, but should be on his own again in the morning.

Praising God with you all. I am sure it is so wonderful just to hold eye contact with him. We are so thankful for this good news. We'll keep praying. Thanks for your faithfulness in keeping us updated.

Praise the Lord! I'm checking this every day, and relaying updates to my congregation from time to time, as many of them are praying. God is great, AND God is good.

One question: the blood clot sounds like a big one, and a bad thing, but you haven't really spoken much of it. I'm sure it's an area of some concern, but you don't seem to act as though it's a biggie. Is that the case, or am I reading too much into your relative silence?

Amen! Amen!

Our whole family continues to pray throughout the day, at meals, at bedtime, and when we awake at night.

Thank you for the updates. It is a merry Christmas!

This is GREAT news. I am happy for TJ and the entire family. I have been checking this blog for the past 3 weeks or so, since my church (Kenosha Bible Church) put this on the prayer chain. I have been consistently praying for him every time I think about him, which is at least once every day, usually more. God bless!

Dear TJ, MA,and family,
We continue to pray, will continue to pray and rejoice at God's gracious response to our prayers and those of hundreds (thousands?) of others. May you sense continued peace and joy at the gift of life, appreciated ever so much more after this, by you and us as well. Looking forward to great things to come.

Thank You, Heavenly Father!! I continue to lift the Addington family up into Your hands. You know how much I've been hurting over their situation and You are always hearing my constant prayers over the family, as well as the prayers from everyone else around the world. Thank You for good news, and I ask that You would show Your power again by helping TJ make a full recovery. AMEN
