Morning Update

TJ's night was nice and quiet - he slept peacefully, although he did spike a fever around 3am, requiring the use of the cooling blanket. The vent settings were switched to CPAP for approximately 8 hours yesterday, making it an extraordinarily successful first attempt at weaning, and then it was switched back on to assisted breathing to give his lungs a rest through the night.

At 6am this morning they again switched the vent to CPAP, and so far his O2 saturation has been between 98% and 99% (and this is breathing through a very uncomfortable, large tube in his throat)! Please continue to pray that his vitals remain stable as he learns to breath again on his own.

We have 2 specific requests for today: Pray that TJ's fever will disappear, and pray for a successful extubation. The sooner TJ gets off that vent, the better he will feel. We are so appreciative of everyone's prayer! We will update again later in the day.

It's so good to hear some good news again! We'll continue to pray. I wanted to comment on the almost 8000 different people checking out the sight. I know that some of my family (extended) don't do the whole internet thing, so I've been forwarding these requests and keeping them posted. They've been praying and asking me regularly how everyone is.
It is great to be apart of such a big family! What an amazing God we have - it is so touching how God places someone on the heart of another person who doesn't even know them! I am sure there are many praying who don't even know TJ and the family.
With Love,
Rhonda

How awesome to be a witness of this miracle! The number of people praying is truly incredible.
And I feel there are other miracles occurring at this hospital as people witness "the sickest man in the hospital" being restored to health. The doctors, nurses and staff must be in wonder as they see the impossible become possible. Following is an exerpt from my devotional, "Streams In The Desert."
"Difficulty is actually the
atmosphere surrounding a
miracle, or a miracle in its
initial stage. Yet if it is
to be a great miracle, the
surrounding condition will be
not simply a difficulty but
an utter impossibility. And it
is the clinging hand of His
child that makes a desperate
situation a delight to God."

Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for the Christmas Miracle you have given TJ and his dear family. May they be strenghthened by your strength as they await the awakening of their dear TJ. Bless him with a full recovery. Amen

Praying in Faith for TJ's successful weaning process and complete physical healing in God's perfect timing, in Jesus name.

Praying that this Christmas would prove to be your most memorable ever-with the gift of the abundant ilfe in the here and now that Jesus came to give flowing through TJ once again. Thank you Lord for all You are doing and will do. Amen.

The Fernandez family continues to pray for TJ and the family. May God's grace and peace continue to be with you, as we know it will be.

We are praying for Tj's fever to disappear and for him to be extubated and breating on his own with lungs clear in record time. Last night I did wake up at 3 A.M. again --- with a sense of peace but with a reminder to just lift up TJ. Seeing the blog this morning about the fever at 3 A.M. encourages me to continue paying attention to the promptings to pray whenever they come.
