I am going to open things up for questions for a little bit as I am still waiting to hear anything definitive. So if you have a question, post it on this entry and I'll try to give an answer. Please shy away from most of the personal stuff, or, at least, don't get too personal. Basically, if you wouldn't ask the question in public don't ask it here. Otherwise, heh, whatever. Was everyone able to get a good night sleep last night? I hope so. Did they actually end up bringing him out of the induced coma yet? How are you and the rest of the family holding up, what is something we can specifically be praying for you whether its directly related to this or otherwise? Sorry if that is too many questions, I figure others would be interested too.

With the clear connection of "issues" coming up at around 3:30am I am committing to pray each day from 3:00-4:00am CST for TJ. Do you think we should put out a call for others to join in concerted prayer at that time? It seems that there is a significant spiritual battle that is happening at that time. (My personal experience has been that this time of day is when the Enemy seems to often be active in attacking God's people.)
I was just wondering if we should also disable our Blogger connections if they connect to certain entities and just use nicknames or if you are not concerned about that?
In re: to the jugular blood clot...is there a reason they cannot just go in and get it OR put a 'catch net' (cannot remember what it is called) ahead of it to snag it if it breaks loose?
It just struck me that this whole thing started with TJ's tooth being pulled. Has anyone looked at that hole to see if there is an infection there? With the ET tube in, it's hard to look at the inside of the mouth. Maybe nothing, but just wanted to ask.

This may be random, but I was just wondering if you know if TJ is a visual or auditory learner. Knowing this may help you bring him up to speed in a less overwhelming way. If he's visual, it may help him to actually read your blog history so he knows what's been going on; also if he's visual then an "oral history" recounting of where he is and why could be overwhelming and more incomprehensible. Obviously if he's auditory then hearing what's happened and what is going on will be helpful. Not quite sure what to do if he's kinesthetic (hands-on)...
I understand there are very explainable reasons for his confusion, but for some reason was just struck that reading to learn about where he's at may be less taxing on him.
It has been a privilege to pray for this son and brother of our church family members.
How about putting some Thickit or Thickenup in a diet Coke to give it a consistency of honey and let him have his fix?

I work in TJ's office and have been following this blog almost daily, as well as praying for TJ and family. May God continue to strengthen and uphold your faith as you lean on Him.
I have a medical question, more for your consideration than for my needing to have an answer. I apologize in advance for the length of this. A little background first: My daughter had Thoracic Outlet Syndrome last year which basically was a clot in a vein in her right shoulder caused by compression of the vein. Because of this I think about TJ's clot issue.
For my daughter, they very aggressively tried to dissolve as much of the clot as possible within a week of the first occurrence. After that she was on Coumadin for a number of months.
So my questions ...
1. My impression is that the longer a clot remains the more it tends to adhere to the vessel wall and become permanent. Are they concerned that the clot has been there so long that it will be difficult to get rid of by dissolving, which could possibly lead to permanent issues for TJ's arm if no other method for eliminating the clot is recommended?
2. Is the clot in a vein or an artery? My daughter's doctor said that arteries are very sturdy and can be operated on successfully much easy than a vein can, at least in my daughter's case. I just ask this if they consider a surgical method of clot removal.
Today's update is so so encouraging!! We have been following this saga from the beginning and it has really touched our lives. The blog has been a wonderful tool to keep us all very close to the "action". Thank you for being so faithful in keeping it current. God is good. All the time!
