No News Is Good News

Mary Ann thinks that they'll be able bring down his fever and heart without problem. Without problem meaning this shouldn't be another crisis.

Vitals were better at the last post than they had been minutes earlier. So unless this does blow up expect not to see a new post until tomorrow.

Vitals Moving Wrong Direction

TJ has an increasing fever and heart rate at 102.8 and 135-140, respectively. These are both much higher than we would prefer, and it is a bad sign that they are going up, as they often do in tandem.

It is a sign that the meds are not kicking in, which we desperately need them to.

New Prayers

As you continue to pray for TJ, we have a new verse that we are asking you to pray over him:

Daniel 2:47

"The king said to Daniel, 'Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery.'"

Pray that God will reveal the mystery of TJ's infection!

The doctors have added another antibiotic: Rifampin.

Echo Postponed, Other Updates

TJ's endotracheal echocardiogram (see this post) has been postponed until tomorrow morning, because tube feeding needs to be stopped for six hours ahead of time. In the meantime, they are trying to find the source of the infection. To do so, they are changing all of TJ's various tubes and culturing them as they go.

At the present time his BP is doing pretty well *without* medication - praise! They are giving him medication to eliminate extra fluid in his body, so the fact that his BP is staying in an acceptable range is good. Tylenol is controlling his temperature to keep the fever down.

You can continue to keep today's requests in your prayers, and well as claim the Psalms over TJ. Thank you again for fighting alongside us!

A Moment for Thanks

We would love to just take a moment to thank you for your prayers. So far there are 5,110 of you watching the website, and between you the site has been viewed nearly 40,000 times! We are overwhelmed with appreciation for all the prayers and support and ask you to keep fighting on TJ's behalf.

We are thrilled to watch that 49 US states (Delaware, where are you?) and 59 countries around the world are praying for TJ. The sun literally never sets on prayers for our husband, brother, father, son, and friend, and we praise God for this! We are encouraged by the army that has risen up for such a time as this.

For the Addingtons, K

Precautions and Prayer

The doctors are planning to do another endotracheal echocardiogram sometime this afternoon in order to rule out an abscess on the heart valve. The biggest concern right now is the overwhelming septic shock. We *NEED* to find an antibiotic that works against it. The miracle bullet will be to knock the infection out.

Dr. Corbett, the Internist, has told us that “we need outside help,” meaning our prayers. Keep asking for miracles. Fight hard! The battle is yet to be won.

Morning Addendum: Gathering

This is TJ's other brother D... We have acquired an apartment across the street in the Lipschultz building as a "satellite waiting room"... It's close, and will allow friends and family to congregate without overwhelming the ICU family rooms. All are welcome! The building is "secure", so we need to either call the room, (651-241-7133), or a cell phone of someone that you know is in the room. Please note that this was at the request of the ICU staff to limit the visitors.

Morning Update

First and foremost, we are again asking for absolutely *NO* visitors. Not only is TJ’s infection serious, but the doctors have asked us to really limit the number of people even in the waiting room.

Tj’s O2 sats are better than they were yesterday, but still not at a good level. His blood pressure is ok with great interventions. His temperature this morning indicates that the infection is still not under control. The docs are “very concerned.” They have added a third antibiotic: gentamicin.

Prayer requests for today:

  • The pneumonia *MUST* respond to treatments.
  • His vital signs need to stay in a survivable range. Overwhelming toxic shock is still a very real possibility in TJ’s current state.

Again, Dr. Corbett has ordered minimal visitors. Our group took over the waiting room yesterday and it makes it very difficult for staff and other families if we are dominating the waiting space. We still want you to gather to pray, but please find another gathering place. Your prayers are all precious to us!
